A Hobbit Happening!

It was a Hobbit Happening!

Except for having big, hairy feet, it might be "sweet" to be a hobbit.  We visited Bilbo's hobbit hole and joined in hobbit cameraderie at the last TAG meeting.  After eating sweet hobbit food like scones, cakes, and pies, we wrote in Elvish and made shields. Later we played hobbit party games like "Minute to Win It". 

Death by Chocolate Party

Whodunnit?  Someone committed a crime, and someone experienced DEATH BY CHOCOLATE!  At our last meeting our brave group pounced on the evidence, committing themselves to horribly tedious research.  They courageously tasted each kind of chocolate to see who among them knew too much, the person who had guilt "all over her face"!  (Or was it just chocolate?)  Brianna was the murderer, so she was condemned to eat all the chocolate in one hour.  Luckily, she shared.

Vampires vs. Zombies

THEY WALK AMONG US...

After answering a questionaire at the October TAG meeting, a high percentage of the group admitted to vampire and/or zombie symptoms .  Since there was a full moon a few days before, some of us even began to look a little "undead".  Our pizza had extra tomato sauce on it, so it disappeared as fast as a silver bullet. The zombies just couldn't get full, unfortunately.

Then the rumble started.  The vampires challenged the zombies to a challenge.  It was "neck and neck" the entire time, and ended up "dead even".  Mere mortals didn't stand a chance.

It was an "off the chain" party.

Everyone, alive or dead, is invited to the next TAG meeting on NOVEMBER 14 at 12 NOON!  It's another early release day, so you can also sell snacks at the 1:30 p.m.  Most likely the movie will be "Brave".

We also need help for the SILVER CELEBRATION, Saturday, October 13 from 12:45 - 3:00 p.m., and at the Halloween party on Friday, October 26 from 1:15-3:00 p.m.

 

FALL NEWS

The St. Francis Library Teen Advisory Group has had an epic summer!

Baily, Caleb, D.J., Kari, Kaylee, Lisette, Briana, Antonio, Donny, Volodymyr, and Katie have helped host movies, an Olympics program, and a fabulous Star Wars party.  At our meetings, we've been chillaxin' with games, "Just Dance" on the Wii, crafts, and a Hunger Games challenges party (see photos).  Plus, we've walked in the St. Francis Days Parade on September 1.

WE NEED YOU!

The Teen Advisory Group plans fun activities like those, suggests items to be added to the library collection, and helps out at library programs such as movies. 

Join the Teen Advisory Group by coming to any of our meetings.  We'll have pizza and an activity that we've picked out.  Make new friends and have a fun time.

Next, we'll be helping at the St. Francis Silver Celebration on October 13.

Our next meeting will be on Friday, October 26 at 12 noon, where we'll have a "Zombies vs. Pirates" party.  You could even turn into a zombie or a pirate, if you'd like.  The Halloween party for everyone will follow, from 1:30-3:00.
